Switching from a natural lip color to a dazzling fuchsia or juicing up our hair color to a more vivid shade, can be amazingly uplifting. And while our Aveda Artists are committed to energizing our outlooks through creating gorgeous hair hues and stunning makeup looks, they also believe that leading a more colorful life is an “inside job” that encompasses the choices we make, how we treat people and the actions we take.
We share their thoughts with you here to help inspire you to live each day more colorfully. And, as an added bonus, we include our favorite colorful photos from our 2015 global celebration of beauty, Aveda Congress.
“I try to always be kind, even in challenging situations where I have to fight my ego. I strive for that every day. And when I can do that I find that others will treat me the way I want to be treated. To me, that is what being colorful is all about.” — Anna Conte, Global Mentor Makeup Pure-fessional, Civello Salon, Canada
“I play a lot of music and study classical music, both voice and piano. This passion adds a lot of color and dimension to my life.” — Kristjan Hayden, Aveda Canada Creative Director
“We have to push ourselves to be our best and keep growing everyday because this is what will lead us to new opportunities. When this happens we are truly living colorfully which translates to always looking and feeling great.” — Ian Michael Black, Aveda Global Artistic Director, Hair Color
“I look at everything around me for inspiration – even when I am outside walking my dog. Then I take that colorful inspiration and share it with the people in my life.” — Luis Gonzalez, Aveda Color Pure-fessional, Salon Owner, Vida Salon, Denver, Colorado
“I live a colorful life because I get to share hair color with my guests every day. I love to inspire people with color from the fashion I see in the city to everything I see in my everyday life.” — Vera Ramasute, Artistic Director, New York New York Hair Studio, Chiang Mai, Thailand
“I definitely lead a colorful life because every day is different and I just go for it by allowing myself to be inspired by anything that comes my way. This makes everything seem more beautiful.” — Julianna Marcs, Salon Owner & Aveda Artist, Sydney, Australia
“Through some great mentors, I learned to try and say ‘yes’ to everything, which I think opens the door to more opportunities, rather than sticking to what is comfortable. To me, that’s the best way to stay colorful.” — Daisy Colinas, Vice President, Partner Salon Group, Collega International, Canada
